In this archive he is Kakuranger’s Ninja Black / Jiraiya. An action actor raised across both Japan and the US, he starred in Ultraman Powered the year before Kakuranger and went on to cross between Japanese and American tokusatsu and action work — Godzilla: Final Wars, the game-based DOA, and more. On this show his then-shaky Japanese was turned to advantage: the character itself was rewritten into "a ninja back from America."
